Interactive Artist — Photographer — Music Composer
I design interactive experiences to share my story and interests and create art with those who engage with it. Through participation, my pieces are ever-changing and combined reflections of myself and others.
Interactive art involves the viewer in the artwork. It senses a viewer’s actions and responds accordingly. I experiment with various sensors that detect, for example, pulse, light, or sound and computer input devices like the mouse or camera to cause visual, auditory, or physical changes within the work.
The interactive aspect of my projects brings the audience’s attention to their presence and the present as they become aware of their influence within the space. The meaning of the work is embedded in the interaction between the viewers and the piece. Thus, their engaged attention allows for further immersion and impact on the subject I wish to share.
The audience alters the outcome of my work, blurring the boundary between the artist and the participant. My practice is as much about those who engage with my art as it reflects me. Through technology, I can collaborate asynchronously with the audience. Together, we become an artist collective, resulting in a creation none could have done alone.
